Ayatollah Ali Kourani Ameli told IQNA in an exclusive interview that the plot is being orchestrated by the Wahabi kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the aim of carrying out the vicious plans of the US and Israel.
He further lashed out at the silence of the international organization over the massacre of the innocent Shia Muslims describing the UN as the lackey of hegemonic powers.
Ayatollah Kourani further called on the government of Pakistan to take a decisive stance on the issue and put an end to the sufferings of the Shias.
He added that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey are among the main backers of terrorists in the region calling on media outlets to adopt any necessary measure to reveal Western particularly Zionist crimes.
The Lebanese intellectual also hailed Iranian seminaries response to the killings and reiterated that, “Islamic Republic of Iran should enhance its ties with Pakistan and attempt to find a solution to the ongoing massacre of Shia Muslims”.
In protest to the massacre of Pakistani Shias by foreign-backed terrorists, all seminaries in the cities of Tehran and Qom were closed on Saturday, with teachers and students taking to the streets to voice their protest to the silence of international organizations.
They also chanted slogans in support of innocent Pakistani Shias while condemning US and Israel for being behind anti-Shia terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
The protest came after a bombing in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on March 3 killed over 45 Shia Muslims and injured 150 others. Women and children were among those killed and injured.
Shias make up 20 percent of the country's 180-million-strong population.
Violence has escalated against Shia Muslims in different parts of Pakistan in recent months.
Since the beginning of 2012, hundreds of Shias have been killed in the country.
The attacks have targeted many doctors, engineers, high-ranking government officials, teachers, and politicians.
