A Princeton University's lecturer discussed the importance of using modern technologies and teaching methods in Quranic education, saying that it will promote dissemination of Islamic culture.
According to IQNA’s branch in America, Dr. Heba Musharraf, a lecturer in the university's Department of Near Eastern Studies, spoke at a forum titled “Recite and Recall, Knowing the Quran” at the Monninger Center of Fairleigh Dickinson University.
His speech was followed by screening of the documentary "Quran by Heart."
Musharraf’s presentation examined the relationship between faith, the Quran and the role that memorization plays in defining and substantiating the way Islam is lived and experienced.
Musharraf has taught Arabic at the college level for 17 years.
The event was a part of “Muslim Journeys,” a project grant from the American Library Association, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities that the College at Florham Library was awarded this semester.
