“Islam, Society and Government” Conference Planned in Russia
A religious conference on “Islam, Society and Government” will be held on May 27 in Pyatigorsk city of Russia.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the two-day program will be organized by Russia’s Association for Islamic Agreement, Muftiat Council of the country and Scientific and Educational Center of Moderation.
The Foundation for Supporting Islamic Culture, Sciences, Education and Training in this country will cooperate in holding the program.
Muftis from various parts of Russia, religious scholars and eminent figures of the country from Pyatigorsk, Moscow, Kazan, Stavropol land, the Republics of the Northern Caucasia as well as representatives from government organizations and religious experts will take part at the program.
Stances that different religions have taken towards Muslims’ life in the multicultural society and secular government, principles of Shari’ah, traditions and rituals of a multicultural society, laws of a secular government and merging the culture of Muslim nations of Russia into the public culture of the country, and the concept of patriotism in view of Islam will be among the themes of the congress.
