According to the website of the holy shrine, the mourning ceremony was organized by the Center for Supervising Iraqi Youth’s Affairs with the participation of university students and the country's academicians.
Hussein Ni’mah, director of the center said the ceremony included various programs such as a Quran recitation session as well as an educational workshop in which the participants created artworks on the occasion.
He added that the workshop was held with the participation of 12 university lecturers and the artworks will be put on display at an exhibition to be held in Talle Zeynabiyyah in the holy city of Karbala.
In an statement issued on the occasion, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalayi, custodian of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, stressed that the custodianship defends the holy shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) and called upon international organizations to pass laws preventing desecration of holy sites.
