Political Epic Materialized
Two days before Friday’s presidential elections, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that Friday will be “the peak of epic”.
Imam Khamenei in his Norouz message (in March) had named the new Iranian calendar year the Year of Political and Economic Epic and regarded the presidential elections as the great event of the current year.
“Regarding political issues, the great event of the year 1392 is the presidential elections, which will in fact determine the executive and political destiny of the country - and in a sense, the general destiny of the country - for the next four years. God willing, the people will manage to build a good future for themselves and their country through their presence in this arena,” His Eminence said.
Since a few weeks before the elections, the enemies had begun to intensify their pressures and moves against the country. They wanted to dissuade the people from going to the polls.
It was at this time that Imam Khamenei in one of his speeches said the enemies of Islam and the Revolution have used all their financial, media and political means to separate the people from the Islamic establishment and create cynicism towards the elections and the body holding them, “but mass voter turnout on Friday will once again defeat the enemy”.
And then Imam Khamenei’s prediction was realized. On Friday, June 14, people massively went to the polls and the political epic was materialized.
