Deadline for Paper Submission to Int’l Congress on Islamic Humanities Extended

Secretariat of the 2nd International Congress on Islamic Humanities announced that the deadline for sending papers to the congress was extended by the end of summer.
Talking to IQNA, Ataollah Rafi’i, head of the secretariat of the congress and the scientific secretary of the program said that following the 1st edition of the congress, which was successfully held in May 2012 in the capital city, the secretariat is going to hold the second congress in October 2013.
Over 250 abstracts and 180 full papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the international program so far.
He said that the themes of the program will include “critique of mainstream Humanities”, “philosophy and methodology of Islamic Humanities”, “interdisciplinary connections between natural sciences and Humanities from an Islamic perspective” and “theorizing and innovation form an Islamic perspective in the areas of Fiqh and Law, political sciences, social sciences and communications, economics, education, psychology and management”
Ten specialized commissions have been formed in the major academic centers of Iran each focusing on one of these themes from among which “political sciences” will be the main theme of the second congress, he added.
The objective of the commissions is to encourage the elites and researchers to participate at the congress. They are responsible to create specialized scientific centers in universities and hold specialized forums all over the country.
The objectives of the congress at international level will be carried out by the international committee of the congress which was formed in cooperation with Al-Mustafa International University and Imam Khomeini (RA) Educational-Research Institute and which is directed by head of the Center for Scientific Studies and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
