Quran Memorization Contest Underway in Jizan
The 8th edition of Quran memorization contest in Jizan, Saudi Arabia, began on July 11.
Over 150 memorizers of the Holy Quran compete in two stages of this edition of the contest.
Memorization of one Juz’ (part) of the Holy Quran and memorization of 20, 15, 10, 5 and 3 Juzes of the Divine Book are the various categories of the competition.
The final stage will be held on the 18th of the holy month of Ramadan and top participants will be awarded at a ceremony on the 20th day of the holy month.
Jazan City is situated on the coast of the Red Sea and serves a large agricultural heartland that has a population of 1.5 million.
