Officials of the religious committee in Tajikistan’s Sughd region said the doors of a number of mosques that had been closed before have been opened to worshipers.
Head of the committee Abdul Hakim Sharifov in a press conference said they have been opened temporarily during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said the mosques officials had requested permission to open the doors during the holy month and it was given.
Sharifov added that these mosques will be closed again at the end of the holy month.
Ramadan, the month of fasting for over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, started on July 10.
