Dubai Quran Award Gets Underway with 8 Memorizers Going on Stage

Dubai International Quran contest began on Tuesday night with eight participants going on stage on the first night.
Representatives of Nigeria, Qatar, Mali, India, Bosnia, Canada, the Ivory Coast and Thailand competed on the first night of the event, Al-Bayan daily reported.
Head of the organizing committee Ibrahim Bu Milha said all of the participants have arrived in Dubai in the past few days and have taken preliminary exams held to assess their memorization level and ensure that they are capable to take part in the competition.
8 more contestants will go on stage tonight, July 17, to prove their memorization skills. They are from Chad, Indonesia, Rwanda, Oman, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Burundi, and the Philippines.
89 Quran memorizers from different Muslim and non-Muslim countries are attending the 17th edition of Dubai International Holy Quran Competition. Milad Asheghi represents the Islamic Republic of Iran in the contest.
