In his second Friday prayers sermon at Tehran University Campus, Ayatollah Ahamd Jannati added that the teachings of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) are present in all aspects of the society and people’s life and that the stances of the Imam (RA) about the (Munafiqin) hypocrites, counter-revolutionaries and the United States is quite clear.
He further referred to the anniversary of the foundation of the Guardian Council and said the council has always been committed to the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the law.
Pointing to the recent presidential and municipal councils elections, the senior cleric thanked the Supreme Leader, the people of the country and the candidates for helping to create a political epic in the elections.
He described the participation of over 70 percent of eligible voters in the elections as valuable and a source of dignity for the country, adding that everyone saw that the elections were held in absolute freedom and fairness without any problems.
Ayatollah Jannati hoped that the president elect will resolve the political, cultural and economic issues and remain true to the mottos and values of the Islamic Revolution.
He also praised the government of outgoing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for their diligence and reviving revolutionary mottos.
Elsewhere in his sermon, Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader pointed to the situation in Egypt and said there was a lot of hope in Egypt’s 2011 revolution but then relations with the Zionist regime were resumed, the Camp David Accord was confirmed and as a result a movement called Tamarrod was formed in the country that seeks severing ties with the US and Israel.
In his first sermon, Ayatollah Jannati referred to the anniversary of demise of Hazrat Khadija (SA), the wife of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and said the first Lady of Islam sacrificed all she had for the sake of Islam.
