Al-Mustafa University professor Hojat-ol-Islam Najaf-Ali Mirzaee made the remark in an expert session at the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition, adding that Imam Khamenei has referred to the Islamic Awakening movements in the region as great steps toward creating the new Islamic civilization.
Titled “Public Diplomacy and Islamic Awakening, focusing on the Supreme Leader’s Views”, the forum was held on Saturday night, July 19, at Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall).
Hojat-ol-Islam Mirzaee said what makes it necessary to discuss the issue of Islamic Awakening is that some of the harms that the Supreme Leader had warned about have taken place.
“His Eminence had warned at the beginning of these movements that if there is not good leadership and management, the Islamic Awakening current will face serious difficulties.”
He said that for different reasons, the Islamic Awakening movement has been harmed, especially in Egypt, adding that it indicates that the early warnings from Imam Khamenei have now happened.
In the whole Muslim world there is no one who has presented comprehensive and strategic analyses about the management of the Islamic Awakening movement like Imam Khamenei has, Hojat-ol-Islam Mirzaee.
He underlined that Imam Khamenei has very well described the roots of the Islamic Awakening movement, its current status and its weaknesses and strengths.
The Al-Mustafa University scholar noted that Imam Khamenei considers the Islamic Awakening movement to be the continuation of a historical trend, whereas analysts in the Arab world have paid little attention to the historical backgrounds of the movement.
He regretted that because of inattention to the Supreme Leader’s warnings, what His Eminence had predicted and warned about came to pass.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mirzaee said Imam Khamenei has emphasized the need for making structures and systems, knowing the enemies and their conspiracies, refusing to limit the scope of the Islamic Awakening movement to sectarian boundaries and keeping people on the scene.
Also speaking at the forum was Hojat-ol-IslamSeyyed Ahmad Nekoyi, managing director of the Center for Cultural Studies and Strategic Relations, who said the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has referred to the Islamic Awakening as a historical turn that has changed the international order.
He referred to seeking Islam, regaining identity, fighting oppression and the global arrogance, and creating new systems based on the will of Muslim nations as some of the characteristics of the recent revolutions in the region in view of the Supreme Leader.
