“We are excited to launch this app,” Hj Suhardi Hj Suhaimi, the founder of Mediahikmah multimedia company, told The China Post on Monday, July 22.
“We have worked hard on the content and animation to ensure it appeals to the children so they are able to engage with the application.”
Reaching out to tech-savvy younger generation, Mediahikmah, a Bruneian local multimedia company, worked to develop children's Islamic e-learning application for tablets and smartphones.
The mobile app, called Adam & Aimi Edisi Puasa (Fasting Edition), teaches Muslim children on how to perform the basic requirements of the holy month of Ramadan.
Along with dos and don’ts of fasting, the app teaches children on how to recite prayers and good deeds recommended during the fasting month.
The app was designed to be informative and interactive with colorful child-friendly design and content that will appeal to the Muslim children ages 2 and up.
The project was inspired by Hj Suhardi who was concerned with the lack of e-learning apps and games on tablets and smartphones that are suitable for his children.
The new app targets the younger generation of consumers who have access to mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
“Kids today are considered to be quite tech savvy,” Suhardi said.
“Hence it is good to have an educational Islamic app in hand with them to learn more about the good deeds that can be done during Ramadan and sharpen their recitation skills further.”
It is the first locally developed application in a growing multimedia international market.
Suhardi hopes to inspire other educators, particularly the new generation of tech-savvy teachers, to develop e-learning solutions for the education sector.
The app was developed for multiple mobile platforms; an android version which is available for free download at the Google Play Store, a 99 cents iOS version which will be available next week, as well as Windows 8 and Blackberry versions in the future.
“We want to make this app available for as many children as possible, so we made it cross-platform, for many devices of different screen sizes,” Hj Suhardi said.
