The United States does not negotiate with any country based on mutual respect, an adviser to the speaker of the Majlis said.
Speaking to IQNA, Hossein Sheikholeslam referred to the Supreme Leader’s statements about the need for not forgetting the enemy’s conduct and said Dr Mosadeq (Iran’s prime minister in the 1950s who was ousted in an American-backed coup) and some of the current Islamists in the region made a mistake to trust the US and were overthrown.
“They did not know the enemy and, therefore, were slapped in the face,” he said.
Sheikholeslam reminded of the judiciousness of Imam Khomeini (RA), and said the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran knew the enemy and its moves very well and acted against the enemy judiciously.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the political analysts said opposing the Zionist regime is the clear principle of Islamic movements and said when some Islamist parties acted against this principle, which has been emphasized by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, their diversion from the path of Islamic Awakening began.
