Dubai Int’l Quran Award Wraps up

The 17th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award concluded on Friday night, July 26.
7 contestants went on stage on the last night of the competition, Emirati daily Al-Bayan reported.
Abdullah Raed from Kuwait, basher Othman from Somalia, Muhammad Ismail from Malaysia, Mazin Muhammad from Palestine, Halim Izam from the Maldives, Abdullah Nunav from Kenya and Muhammad Mafu from Kazakhstan recited verses of the Quran from memory and answered the jury panel’s questions on the last night of the contest.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 29, where winners will be awarded and the Islamic personality of the year selected by the organizers will also be honored.
Milad Asheghi represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international Quranic event.
A sideline competition is planned to be held today, July 27, on the most beautiful Quranic Sowt (voice).
