Rostam Ghalandari, deputy of the Khuzestan branch of the Committee for Reconstruction of Holy Sites in Iraq, told IQNA that the project began following an agreement made by the custodianship of the holy shrines and the central office of the committee.
Ghalandari said that the project is being implemented by Iranian artists from Esfahan and Shiraz in 4 cities of Ahvaz, Andimeshk, Omidiyeh and Abadan.
He added that building two doors in Abadan is expected to cost 2 and a half billion Rials (Iranian currency), 500 million Rials of which has been donated by the people of the region so far.
The deputy noted that 40 skillful carpenters of the province are building the doors under the supervision of Esfahani and Shirazi experts.
The project, which began concurrent with the anniversary of Imam Ali's (AS) martyrdom on the 21st of the holy month of Ramadan, will be completed by the end of this year (March 2014), he said.
