Some 3 million students in the country study at Quranic schools the deputy of the Education Ministry’s Quran, Etrat and Prayers Department said.
Speaking to IQNA’s Qazvin branch, Mohammad Reza Mosayyebzadeh said these students study in three semesters.
He said there are over 11000 Quranic schools active in the country, some 10000 of which offer extracurricular Quranic courses.
According to Mosayyebzadeh establishment of these Quranic schools means realization of a long-standing desire of the country’s Quranic activists.
“Given the significance of Quranic issues, efforts have been made to have the best Quran teachers in these schools so as to set the ground for Quranic training of the country’s students”.
He said more than 5000 experts in different Quranic fields such as memorization, recitation and Tafsir (interpretation) teach in Quranic schools.
“These schools are affiliate to the Council for Development of Quranic Activities and the Commission of Public Education for Quranic Culture and provide Quran teaching to the students at 7 levels.”
Mosayyebzadeh lauded the activities of Quranic schools in the country and hoped they will progress more than before.
