Muslim Brotherhood’s 53-strong Council issued a statement on Friday, August 30, saying it is against any foreign intervention in Syria, Al-Jazeera reported.
The council also urged the Jordanian government to refuse to take part in any possible attack on Syria or give its military bases to Western countries for such an attack.
The council further condemned the recent chemical attack on a Damascus suburb describing it as atrocious.
Jordan’s opposition party, the National Front for Reforms, has also warned against direct or indirect participation of the government in a possible military intervention in Syria.
A senior Jordan official said on Wednesday that the country’s armed forces are on high alert and delayed along the 375-kilometer border with Syria ahead of a possible military attack by Western countries on Syria.
