The British police have arrested two men from London over charges of terrorism and firearms offences after they returned to the UK from a militant training camp in Syria.
On Sunday, Scotland Yard said Mohommod Hassin Nawaz, 29, and Hamza Nawaz, 22, who both are from east London, were arrested as they arrived at the port of Dover in Kent after traveling across the English Channel from Calais in France.
The pair is due in a London court on Monday to face charges over conspiring to attend a terrorist training camp and attempting to import firearms equipment while in possession of five rounds of rifle ammunition. Police arrested them on September 16 under Schedule 7 of the UK Terrorism Act.
The British government has expressed concerns over Britons going to Syria to join the insurgency there.
Earlier last year, the then-MI5 chief Jonathan Evans admitted that some British nationals were receiving training in the likes of Libya and Egypt.
Figures last year suggested more than 100 Britons had received training by terrorist groups in Somalia and Evans indicated there could be a steady stream of new recruits in the UK.
