IQNA – The World Quran Recitation Day will be marked later this month under the auspices of Al-Azhar Islamic Center in Egypt.

Al-Azhar is organizing activities to commemorate the World Quran Recitation Day on August 30 with the aim of reciting the entire Quran or parts of it in one day, el-Balad News reported.
This event is an annual initiative, the last edition of which witnessed the participation of more than 100,000 people from Egypt and thousands more from outside the country.
Various institutions, including Al-Azhar-affiliated Quran memorization centers, government institutions, Al-Azhar International Alumni Organization, Egyptian Islamic Research Forum, Al-Azhar University and the General Directorate of Kindergartens, as well as institutions, centers and people from all over the world participate in the programs of this day.
This event is not just a one-day Quran recitation; Rather, it is a practical test to measure the degree of consolidation of memorization, the ability to remember the verses and the ability to recite continuously, and it gives each participant the opportunity to witness the fruits of their Quranic efforts and reach the stage of mastery from the steps of memorizing and reviewing the verses.

This event consists of two parts; ‘Complete Recitation’ in which a Hafiz recites the entire Quran from memory for a Quran teacher or friend in one day and ‘Partial Recitation’ which allows participants to recite any part of the Quran they can, as a teaching method through continuous practice and review, prepares participants to achieve complete recitation of the Quran.
“Iqra wa Irtaq: read and soar” is the slogan of the World Quran Recitation Day and a message for all those who have taken the Quran with them in their life path.
