The competitions aim to promote study and implementation of the principles pronounced in the holy text.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, UFQS chairman Md. Dawood said the competitions were being organized for the second consecutive year, the Hindu reported.
The forum would conduct competitions at Mylavaram, Uyyur, Eluru and Guntur and other places for the convenience of participants. The candidates selected there would participate in the semi-finals scheduled to be organized in the city.
About 200 participants would participate in the semi-finals and 30 students would be selected for finals, he said.
Mr. Dawood said the competitions would be conducted in two categories -- professional (those who study in madrassas) and non-professionals. Fifteen students from each category would be selected for finals. Cash awards of Rs. 35,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000 would be given to the first, second and the third prize winners respectively in both categories. Students who make it to the finals would be given a cash prize of Rs.1,000, he said.
The competitions were being conducted in association with Darsgah-e-Islami High School (Labbipeta) and Masjid-e-Rahimiya (Autonagar).
