Arbaeen Int’l Photography Award Planned

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The first edition of an international photography competition titled “Arbaeen International Photography Award” will be held by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).


According to the public relations and information office of the organization, the competition has been planned on the occasion of Arbaeen to commemorate the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his household in Karbala.



The themes of the photos submitted to the contest should include Arbaeen march to the holy city of Karbala, Arbaeen mourning ceremonies in Iran and other countries, respect and love for Imam Hussein (AS) in various parts of the world and important events related to Arbaeen in different countries.



Those willing to attend the competition should email maximum 5 photos, taken by mobile phones or digital cameras, to Arbaeen@icro.ir.



The file size of the photos taken by cameras should be less than 100 KB saved on a 50 x 70 CD.



The photos received by the organization will be evaluated by a group of expert photographers and three top works will be awarded certificates and special prizes.



Three top photos by Iranian participants will be awarded a 10-day pilgrimage to the holy cities of Iraq.



A 10-day pilgrimage to the holy city of Mashhad and other holy sites in Iran will be the prize for three top photographers from abroad.



 January 11 is the deadline for submitting photos to the contest.



Top photos will be put on display at an exhibition titled “Arbaeen photo exhibition” planned to be organized in Iran and Iranian cultural centers in other countries.
