Al-Khatib also said that translation of the Quran into English is of great importance because some 1 billion people in the world are familiar with the language.
According to the Emirati scholar, over 100 translations of the Quran in English are available today.
He introduced some of these renderings in English including the ones by Marmaduke Pickthall, Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Abdel Haleem.
