28th International Muslim Unity Conference kicks off in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 28th International conference on Islamic unity kicked off Wednesday morning in a ceremony here in Tehran.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and a number of other officials were present at the opening ceremony.
This year’s conference is held on the theme of “United Muslim Ummah, Challenges and Strategies”.
The three-day conference is attended by some 500 personalities, scholars, and thinkers from 65 countries.
The participants will discuss the theme of the conference in expert forums later today.
They will meet with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution on Thursday morning.
Later on Thursday, they will attend a ceremony at Imam Khomeini (RA) mausoleum south of Tehran to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).  
The conference will conclude in a ceremony on Friday night.
