Shatha al-Abousi, who attended the 28th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran earlier this month, told IQNA that the Muslim Ummah’s steadfastness should be enhanced through unity and confronting the Takfiris.
She underlined that boosting unity is a necessity for all Muslims especially in the current circumstances.
The deputy head of Iraq’s human rights committee further said differences among Islamic schools of thought have always existed and can be used as a means to strengthen unity.
Elsewhere in her remarks, al-Abousi lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran for its efforts to boost Islamic unity.
The 28th International Islamic Unity Conference was held in the Iranian capital on January 7-10. The theme of the event was “United Muslim Ummah: Challenges and Strategies”.
