Quran Memorizers Honored in Gaza

TEHRAN (IQNA) - In a ceremony in the Gaza Strip, the Dar-ol-Quran Al-Karim and Sunnah Center awarded 843 Quran memorizers of the center who graduated in 2014.

 According to Safa news agency, the ceremony was held on January 25 with the participation of Ahmad Bahr, Deputy President of Palestinian Legislative Council, Walid al-Amoudi, head of Gaza's charities federation, Abdul Rahman Al-Jamal, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center, Ahmad Thabit, director of Al-Aqsa Office in Gaza and a number of the Quran activists of the region.

Addressing the program, head of the center elaborated on Quranic activities of the Dar-ol-Quran and said that in the year 2014, trained 843 memorizers of the Holy Quran, and more than 60000 of the students mastered reading the Quranic verses and Tajweed principles.
More than 45 students of the center memorized the entire Quran and over 30 students with hearing impairments learned to read the Holy Quran using sign language, he added.
Ahmad Bahr appreciated the efforts of the Quranic center in training the younger generation of the region based on the Holy Quran’s teachings and principles.
Winners of a Quran competition organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center were also awarded at the end of the ceremony.
