According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), a collection of artworks by five Iranian and Japanese artists has been put on display at the exhibition.
It has been organized with the aim of providing an opportunity for artists of the two countries to exchange their experiences as well as developing the cultural relations between Iran and Japan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Nazar Ahari, Iranian ambassador to Japan, talked about the status of arts and stressed the importance of such exhibitions in boosting cultural interactions.
He made a comparison between the position of art before and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and noted that the revolution revived arts and changed arts criteria.
The Islamic Revolution gave arts independence and dignity, he added.
Ferdowsi Gallery in Tokyo is hosting the exhibition for three days.
Various cultural and arts programs have been organized by Iranian cultural centers in different countries to commemorate the occasion.
