TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 6th edition of the student Quran competition organized by Abdulaziz University in Jeddah will kick off on March 1.


According to masdark news agency, the competition will be organized by the Quranic Studies Department of the university's Faculty of Education.

Abdul Mun’im bin Abdulsalam Al-Hayani, head of the supervising committee of the competition and director of the university’s student affairs said that more than 600 male and female students have registered for the competition so far.

He added that the large number of participants shows that the organizing committee of the competition has been successful in encouraging the students and conveying the message of the Holy Quran to the younger generation.

66.5 percent of those who have registered for the competition are girls, he noted.

The categories of the three-day competition include memorization of the entire Quran with Tajweed and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran with Tajweed.
