According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the plan was discussed in a meeting of Mi’raj-ul-Islam, head of the Islamic Teachings Department of the university with Reza Yusefi, Iranian cultural attaché in Peshawar.
Speaking at the meeting, the Pakistani official stressed the need for promoting the Quranic culture and asked the Iranian center to cooperate in holding a conference on the Holy Quran.
He said that the university also plans to hold Quranic courses for teachers of seminary schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
The main objective of the courses is to improve the teachers’ knowledge in order to introduce the true Islam to the world, he said.
Mi’raj-ul-Islam added that among other activities of the university is the publication of a magazine titled “Peshawar Islamic”.
He noted that the magazine is a collection of research studies published by the Islamic Teachings Department of the university and the department welcomes research and academic works by Iranian scholars.
The Iranian official in this meeting underlined that the center is ready to cooperate with the university.
