2 New Categories for RAK Holy Quran Award

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ras Al Khaimah Holy Quran Award as of next year will have two more categories for new Muslims and prophetic Hadiths.

 This was announced by the Ras Al Khaimah ruler as curtains came down on the 15th edition of the six-category RAK Holy Quran Award on Thursday night.

Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, gifted the 93 winners the prize money exceeding Dh670,000 and unveiled two more categories for new Muslims and prophetic Hadiths.
Shaikh Saqr bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the RAK Holy Quran Establishment, said the 16th edition of the Award in 2015 is to see two more categories. These include a Quran contest for new Muslims and a new branch for memorizing the prophetic Hadiths that spotlight the virtues of the Quran.
Ahmed Al Shehi, Director General of the RAK Holy Quran Establishment, said the contest has seen a significant rise of 55 per cent in terms of the number of memorizers registered this year.
Ahmed Subaian, Secretary General of the Establishment and head of the Award supreme organizing committee, said the competition this year saw more than 40 diverse cultural activities and lectures.
