Religious Scholars Play Important Role in Combatting Takfiri Ideology

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Syria’s minister of Awqaf and Islamic affairs underlined the role of Muslim scholars in confronting the Takfiri ideology.

Speaking in a meeting with prayers leaders and preachers in Damascus, Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed stressed that religious and ideological confrontation is necessary for defeating Takfirism.
He said religious scholars can inform people about threat of Takfir and play a significant part in national unity and solidarity in Syria.
Al-Sayyed also referred to the role of mosques, saying that mosques’ mission is to spread kindness and invite to true Islam not to what terrorist groups commit in the name of Islam.
He further called the US and other Western countries to change their conduct and stop supporting the terrorists.
