According to Al-Saudia website, the Islamic Da’wa Center based in the Egyptian city of Alexandria has published 30,000 copies of the translation.
Along with the copies of the Quran, the Dutch parliamentarians also received pamphlets about the teachings and tenets of Islam.
Islam is second largest religion in the Netherlands after various forms of Christianity. Some 10 percent of the Dutch people practice Islam.
Islamophobia has been on the rise in the European country in recent years, especially due to comments and moves by anti-Islam politicians like Geert Wilders.
