TEHRAN (IQNA) – A French Muslim prayers leader has started raising funds for establishing a Quranic school.

Rachid El-Jay, imam of the Sunna Mosque in the city of Brest, in Brittany in northwestern France, has recently filed an application for a permit for building a Quranic school in the city, Breizh-info website reported.
The building permit is currently being considered by the planning department of the city’s municipality.
El-Jay has also been using social media networks to raise funds for the planned school.
He recently posted a clip on the YouTube and posted messages on Twitter and Facebook, hoping to collect the € 830,000 needed for the project.
Intended primarily to provide a Muslim religious education, the school’s programs include teaching Quran memorization and the Arabic language.
