Addressing an international conference on “Extremism and Terrorism; Serious Threats to Contemporary Society”, he added that Muslim Ulama (scholars) ought to condemn terrorist activities perpetrated in the name of Islam and the Quran.
He added that they should demonstrate the fact that extremism and the acts of Takfiri terrorists have nothing to do with Islam.
The international event was held in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek on April 16-17 with the participation of Muslim figures and scholars from various countries, kabar.kg reported.
During the two-day conference, three committees discussed issues like Takfir and extremism, compassion and mercy in Islam, and opposition to Takfir.
Takfir refers to considering certain groups of Muslims as infidel and declaring that killing them is allowed.
In recent years, Takfiri groups like the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have committed heinous crimes in different countries.
