Tehran’s 28th Int’l Book Fair Opens

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The 28th edition of Tehran International Book Fair was launched today, May 5, in a ceremony attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.


The opening ceremony of the exhibition is underway at Imam Khomeini (RA) Musalla (prayer hall) in the capital city.



Ali Jannati, Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, as well as Ministers of Culture from Iraq, Bangladesh and Oman, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, head of the 28th international book fair, a number of directors of Tehran book fair’s committees, publishers and journalists have attended the ceremony.



Iranian minister of culture and Abdul Mun’im bin Mansour Al-Hasani, Oman’s minister of culture will present speeches in the program.



“Reading, Dialogue with the World” is the motto selected for this edition of the exhibition, which is one of Iran’s most important cultural events.



“The motto promotes the importance of reading books on both national and international scales as one of the main principles that underlies appropriate talks between nations and cultures across the world,” the organizers of the exhibition wrote in a statement, which was published on Saturday.



Oman is the honorary quest of this year’s book fair which has been organized with the participation of more than 60 international publishers from across the world.



The 28th edition of the Tehran’s international book fair at Imam Khomeini (RA) Musalla will host visitors from May 6 to 16.
