TEHRAN (IQNA) – The secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement underlined that confronting the aggression on Yemen is a responsibility of the entire world, including regional nations.

In a televised address on the latest developments in the region on Tuesday Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah praised the resistance of the people of Yemen against the aggression and said the Yemeni nation will not accept the domination of any country.

He underlined that Saudi Arabia and its allied have failed to achieve their objectives in the offensive against Yemen and that Saudi claims about realizing its goals in the war are nothing but a media deception, Al-Manar TV reported.

“Tell me about a single objective that has been achieved. Has Saudi Arabia restored the so-called legitimacy in Yemen? Has it managed to prevent the expansion of the Yemeni army and popular committees? Has it confiscated the arms of Ansarullah? Has it been able to return [former fugitive Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh] Mansur Hadi to his country?”

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against its southern neighbor on March 26 - without a United Nations mandate - in a bid to undermine Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to Hadi, a staunch ally of Saudis.

Nasrallah said Riyadh has faced a clear defeat in Yemen and the “Operation Restoring Hope” is another lie to cover up the defeat.

“The solidarity of Yemeni people and their support for their country’s army led to the defeat of Saudi Arabia and evident victory of Yemen,” he stated.
Nasrallah added that the main reason behind the assault on Yemen is “that Saudi Arabia is seeking hegemony.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the leader of Hezbollah warned that the United States seeks to split up countries in the region on ethnic and sectarian lines.

“Even those countries that have connived with the US, above all Saudi Arabia, are facing the threat of disintegration and breaking up.”

He referred to the developments in Iraq, saying the US is seeking to split Iraq under the pretext of fighting the ISIL Takfiri group.
