Tajweed Course for Quran Teachers Underway in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A specialized Quranic course titled “Al-Imam Al-Murtaza (AS)” has been planned for Quran recitation teachers in Nasiriyah city of Dhi Qar Province of Iraq.

According to Qaf news agency, the course is held every Friday by the Quran Center affiliated to Dhi Qar Quranic Association.

‘Imad Al-Wajidi, an eminent Quran expert of the region, supervises the educational program.

Tajweed principles and Telawah (Quran reading) rules are the main themes of the course, which aims to promote Quran recitation skills of Iraqi Qaris.

There has been a significant rise in the number and quality of Quranic activities and programs in Iraq over the past few years.

Iraq is a Muslim majority country where followers of Islam constitute almost 99 percent of the population.
