According to the website of the Astan, modern technologies have been applied in the preparation of the copy and diacritical signs have been scribed by Hameed al-Sa’di, Iraqi calligrapher.
Ziya al-Din Hameed al-Zubaidi, director of the Center of Quran Printing, Interpretation and Sciences affiliated to the Astan, said that so far eminent calligraphers such as Muhammad Amin Rushdi from Turkey and Othman Taha from Syria have inscribed the Divine Book, but Iraqi calligraphers, though skillful in this respect, have not get involved in the inscription of Quran in Naskh.
The Quran copy has been published in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim style, which is one of the famous Quran recitation styles in Iraq, he added.
Al-Zubaidi stated that a team of Iraqi experts in calligraphy including Ali Zabun and Adnan Hamad checked the diacritics of the text.
