TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Saudi political activist, named Mujtahid, said it was not Saudi security forces who blocked the path of an ISIL terrorist who carried out a suicide attack on a Shia mosque in Dammam, Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

While Saudi regime claims its security forces prevented the suicide bomber from entering the mosque, Mujtahid wrote on his Twitter account that it was Shia popular forces who blocked the Takfiri terrorist’s path.

On Friday, a bomb attack, claimed by the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group, targeted a Shia mosque in the Eastern Province, with a confirmed death toll of four as of now.

The Saudi Interior Ministry said the attack took place close to Imam Hussein (AS) Mosque in Dammam, located about 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of the capital, Riyadh.

Saudi media quoted an Interior Ministry spokesman as saying that a bomber, who was dressed in women’s clothing, detonated his bomb in the parking lot of the mosque after his car was stopped by security guards.

But it has now become clear that security forces played no role in stopping the terrorist’s car.

The new assault came a week after a bombing hit a mosque in the al-Qudaih village in the province’s Qatif district, killing 21 worshipers, including two children.

The Takfiri ISIL terrorist group claimed responsibility for the May 22 attack.
