Winner of Malaysia Int’l Quran Contest Highlights Status of Quran Recitation in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar, who came first in the recitation category of Malaysia’s International Quran Competition highlighted the advance of Quran recitation in the Islamic Republic.

According to IQNA dispatches, he said Iran’s status in the field of Quran recitation has been progressing for years thanks to the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei who is the greatest Quran teacher in the Islamic Republic.

 

Hajihassani Kargar made the remark on Sunday in an interview with the media on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of Malaysia’s Quranic event.

 

Asked about his opinion on the Quranic competition, he hailed the high level of participants, especially those from Egypt, Indonesia and host Malaysia.

 

The Iranian Qari further thanked the organizers of the contest and the jury panel.

 

Hajihassni Kargar won the first rank in the recitation category of Malaysia’s 57th International Holy Quran Competition.


It was the first time in 9 years that an Iranian came first in this annual Quran contest.

 

The runner-up was Malaysia’s contender while representatives of the Philippines, Brunei and Algeria came third to fifth.

 

In the memorization of the entire Holy Quran category, memorizers from Qatar, Kuwait and Tunisia won the first to third titles, respectively.

 

The closing ceremony of the contest was held Sunday night at Putra World Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of Malaysia’s king.
