The initiative which kicked off Sunday comprises Daawa convoy, field dispensaries and Ramadan competition, beside provision of Ramadan Breakfast for passersby and preparing Mosques for worshipers and organization of sports competitions, and finally provision of Eid Fitre clothes to poor families in the various states of the country.
The state Minister for Social Security, Ibrahim Adam Ibrahim, commended at a press conference at the launching of the initiative the efforts exerted by the Sudanese youth which help mobilize the community through their various initiatives and work with the community, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
He said the Sudanese community is in need of such initiatives especially those which look for chaste poor families and the needy people.
He called on the people to hold to the lofty values of Islam and to continue with offering food and assistance for the needy and that the youth should always remain in the service of their communities.
The Chairman of the Union, Dr Shogar Bashar, said the program will cover all states of the country and that already convoys have been dispatched to the various states and started work it the said initiatives. He said, for example, the union has refurbished over 3000 mosques and prepared 80,000 packages for chaste poor families with Ramadan consumer requirements.
He said the union wants to further instill the voluntary work in the Sudanese community.
