TEHRAN (IQNA) - The Tasmia Holy Quran Library in Dehradun, Uttarakhand State of India, organised an exhibition of Quran manuscripts, from the collection of a city-based philanthropist S Farooq, to mark Ramzan celebrations.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the exhibition and lauded the efforts of the library in preserving the manuscripts. “The library will attract scholars from all over the world to take up studies in calligraphy and also woo academics from the city,” he said.

From the intricately inked verses on the sheep skin to those boldly written on a paper measuring 6.5 by 7.5 feet and one in Braille, all spoke of the imagination of the artist who wants to convey the message of God as conveyed in the holy book.

Besides scriptures based in a book format, some old scrolls with a miniature calligraphy art and a lavish illumination work were also displayed.
