Quran Competition Winners Honored in Istanbul

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Winners of a Quran competition in Istanbul, Turkey, were honored and received awards in a ceremony held at the city’s Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Mosque.


The event was attended by a number of Iranian Quran reciters who were in Turkey, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.



 



Those who won the top titles in the categories of recitation, memorization and reading the Quran were awarded at the ceremony.



 



It was also addressed by a number of religious figures, including Hojat-ol-Islam Musa Iydin, who underlined that importance of learning the Holy Quran.



 



Recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and singing religious songs were other parts of the program.



 



Turkey is a Muslim-majority country where more than 99 percent of the population adheres to Islam.
