Quran Competition for Children Underway in Tehran
The contest is annually held separately for boys and girls by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
The categories of the competition include recitation of the Quran, memorization of the Quran, Tarteel, and Adhan (call to prayers).
Finalists of each category were selected on Friday and those making it to the final round will compete for the top prize on Saturday.
Winners of the Tarteel category in the boys section have already been selected.
According to the panel of judges, Mohammad Hossein Behzadfar from Tehran, Mohammad Mehdi Beigi from Tehran, Ali Ahmadi from Razavi Khorasan, Reza Kamali from Razavi Khorasan, and Seyed Ali Mousavinejad from Boushehr respectively came first to fifth in this category.
The national Quranic event will come to a conclusion with an awarding ceremony on Saturday.
