TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the OIC Member States to discuss the Israeli violations in the occupied city of Al-Quds and ways to stop the Israeli aggressions on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The OIC Secretary General, Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani said that the Secretariat is coordinating closely with the Member States to hold the meeting in New York during the United Nations General Assembly, the OIC website reported.

He emphasized that this meeting is an urgent necessity in light of the continuous Israeli aggressions against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Israeli scheme to divide the Mosque temporally and spatially.

Israeli settlers and troopers have been attacking worshipers at the site of the al-Aqsa Mosque since September 13, following the deployment of Israeli forces to the area for the Jewish Rosh Hashanah New Year holiday.

Israel has imposed restrictions on entries into the mosque compound since August 26.

Tel Aviv's latest aggression has drawn widespread international criticism and condemnation.
