In comments posted on his Facebook page, he described the Mina incident a tragedy and regretted the Saudis’ mismanagement of the Hajj rituals and their conduct since the disaster, Al-Alam news network reported.
Sheikh Qassem added that there should be transparent investigations into the incident and the results should be given to the Muslim world.
The senior Hezbollah official also stressed that the recordings of all the security cameras should be reviewed in order to determine the cause of the incident and the culprits.
He further extended his condolences to Muslim nations who lost their Hajj pilgrims in the incident, especially the Iranian nation.
According to Iranian officials, about 4,700 pilgrims were killed in the crush in Mina on September 24 when performing religious rites. With the death toll rising, many pilgrims are still unaccounted for in the incident that marked the worst Hajj disaster in 25 years.
Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization on Thursday put the final number of Iranian pilgrims killed in the disaster at 464.
