TEHRAN (IQNA) - The Astans (custodianships) of the holy shrines in Iraq plan to set up 30 booths for reading Quran on the way of the pilgrims marching towards the holy city of Karbala on Arba’een.

According to the Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, the Quranic plan will be implemented in cooperation with different Quranic institutes of Iraq and other countries.

Amir Al-Ka’bi, member of the official committee established to implement the plan, said that the Quranic program will be held for the fourth consecutive year for millions of pilgrims who will march from different parts of Iraq towards the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala.

Among the programs to be held by the Astans is helping the pilgrims to improve their Quran reading skills, especially reading Surah Fatiha, the first Surah of the Holy Quran.

Some Quran competitions, especial sessions and Quranic circles are also planned to be held in the booths.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world march to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arba’een (the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), his household and his companions on Ashura).
