TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international festival titled “Taratil Sajjadiyyah” will be held on martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS) on November 8 in the holy city of Karbala.


According to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, Seyyed Jmalddin Shahrestani, head of the festival’s committee, said that the committee has invited researchers and poets from different countries to participate and send their works about the fourth infallible Imam (AS) to the secretariat of the festival.





He added that Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalayi, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Karbala and custodian of the Astan has stressed the necessity of forming special committees to invite Sunni and Christian scholars as well as intellectuals of other schools of thoughts to the international event.





The international festival will be held by the Astan of imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine in the month of Muharram with the aim of clarifying the noble concepts in the Infallible Imam's (AS) “Treaties of Rights”.





Al-Karbalayi has also stressed the importance of introducing the “Treaties of Rights” by Imam Sajjad (AS), which is an everlasting heritage, to foreign scholars and intellectuals.





The first edition of the festival will be attended by eminent religious and academic figures as well as literary figures from Germany, France, the US, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran and Turkey.
