TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Union of Iranian Quranic Institutes plans to set up Quranic booths on the way of the pilgrims marching towards the holy city of Karbala on Arbaeen.

Hassan Mohammadi, managing director of the union said that a series of cultural-Quranic programs have been planned to be held for millions of pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS).

He said that Iranian Quran activists will cooperate with the directors of different Quranic institutes of Iraq to better commemorate the occasion.

Mohammadi added that all Quranic institutes of the country can participate in the plan from the 10th of Safar (the second month in the lunar calendar) until the end of the month.

Quran reading, recitation, Quranic competitions and correction of readings in prayers are among the programs to be held in the booths.

The representatives of the institutes who will be dispatched to Iraq should be from among top Quran reciters and memorizers of the country and they should know Arabic language.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world march to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arba’een (the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), his household and his companions on Ashura).
