IQNA – The Egyptian minister of education emphasized the need to create a deep bond between students and the Quran from the earliest years of education.

Mohamed Abdel-Latif urged focusing on educational and moral values in addition to teaching core subjects, and emphasized the need to memorize at least two parts of the Holy Quran throughout the six years of primary school education in the country.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of religious education in schools and the need to focus on memorizing the Holy Quran by primary school students.
This measure is part of a broader commitment to character building and cultivating moral values and principles, along with academic and academic achievements, he stated.
Abdel-Latif noted that memorizing verses of the Quran is commendable and helps children and students develop their Arabic language skills, and expressed hope that this amount will increase.
He added that this is not a new decision, as this curriculum has been set since the previous academic year 2025-2026.
The Egyptian minister of education has ordered that the "Religious Education" lesson be taught in schools.
This directive requires that the school schedule be organized in such a way that students receive their religious education lesson at the beginning of the school day, and not by postponing it to the last hours; thus, while maximizing the intended benefit of this lesson, better attendance and participation of students are also guaranteed.
