Pakistani Sunnis to Hold Imam Hussein (AS) Conference

TEHRAN (IQNA) – On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS), a conference about Imam Hussein (AS) will be organized on November 8 by Pakistani Sunni Muslims in Peshawar.


According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Allamah Pir Syed Sajjad Badshah, eminent Pakistani Sufi, had a meeting with Ali Yusefi, in charge of Iranian Cultural Center in Pakistan, in order to invite him to attend the conference.





The Pakistani figure said that Shia and Sunni Muslims in Peshawar were living in peace and they commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS).





Imam Hussein (AS) is the honor of Islam and great figures such as Gandhi and Muhammad Ali Jinah took the Imam (AS) as their role-model in achieving victory, he said.





The Iranian official appreciated the efforts of the Pakistani figure in creating unity between Shia and Sunni Muslims of the region, particularly the influential speeches he presented during the first decade of Muharram month in Peshawar.





Yusefi also highlighted Imam Khomeini’s (AS) advices to strengthen Muslims unity and expressed willingness to participate at the conference.





Great figures and eminent scholars and intellectuals from all over the country are invited to attend the conference which is organized every year by Sunni Muslims of Peshawar.
